Anthony Joshua Has Tyson Fury Contract, But May Take July Warm-Up Fight

Anthony Joshua is in possession of the contract for his highly anticipated bout with Tyson Fury, though he may opt for a warm-up fight in July before facing his British counterpart in November. Following his points victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov, Fury issued a fresh challenge to Joshua and has already signed on for the long-awaited all-British clash. Joshua, however, has yet to commit to the fight, amidst rumors that he may take on a warm-up bout in July after being involved in a car accident in Nigeria that resulted in the tragic deaths of his friends. Promoter Eddie Hearn stated that they received the contract last week and are currently reviewing it, emphasizing the importance of ensuring Joshua is physically and mentally prepared for his return to the ring. Hearn expects Joshua to return to the ring in July, with possible opponents including Deontay Wilder, and expressed interest in the possibility of Joshua facing Wilder and Fury back-to-back. Wilder's camp, however, has denied any discussions taking place, with his co-manager Shelly Finkel stating that he would like to speak with Eddie Hearn to understand his thoughts on the matter.
