Itoje Backs Borthwick to Lead England to Greatness

England's captain Maro Itoje has reiterated his backing for head coach Steve Borthwick, asserting that the team is capable of achieving remarkable success under his guidance, despite a disappointing Six Nations campaign. Following a string of four consecutive defeats, including a historic loss to Italy, England's Six Nations hopes were dashed, culminating in a fifth-place finish. However, RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney has indicated that Borthwick will be given the opportunity to redeem himself during the summer's Nations Championship. Itoje acknowledges that England's performance fell short of expectations, given their impressive 11-Test winning streak prior to the tournament. Nevertheless, he remains optimistic about the team's potential, citing the expertise of Borthwick and his coaching staff.
