Mercedes Intensifies Efforts to Enhance Race Starts

According to George Russell, Mercedes is dedicating significant efforts behind the scenes to improve their race starts, ahead of the Formula 1 season's resumption in Miami. Despite achieving four front row lockouts in the first three Grands Prix and Sprint, neither Russell nor his teammate has managed to take the lead after the opening lap. The team's biggest weakness lies in their starts, but they have shown sufficient pace to recover and win the initial three races. Ferrari has demonstrated exceptional starting skills this season, thanks to their compact turbo, which enables them to quickly find the ideal launch window. Although drivers have limited opportunities to practice starts, Russell emphasizes that the team is heavily focused on analyzing data to address their sole significant flaw. Speaking during Pirelli tire testing in Germany, Russell highlighted the extensive work being done behind the scenes, including simulator analysis and data review, to enhance their performance.
