Chelsea Co-Owner Discusses Rosenior, Maresca, and Transfer Strategy

Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali has expressed the club's intention to sign established players and acknowledged that former head coach Enzo Maresca's departure was an unwanted change. Eghbali stated that the club's policy is to avoid in-season head coach changes, but Maresca's sudden exit on New Year's Day had a negative impact on the team. Chelsea is currently at risk of missing out on next season's Champions League, with only six Premier League matches and an FA Cup semi-final remaining. Eghbali has backed current head coach Liam Rosenior to achieve success, citing his attributes and the club's daily experience working with him over 18 months. The co-owner also addressed the club's transfer policy, indicating a shift towards signing more experienced players to complement the existing youth-oriented approach. Eghbali emphasized the importance of stability, particularly with regards to the manager, and acknowledged that the club has not yet achieved this. He expressed commitment to delivering on-pitch success and winning trophies, in line with Chelsea's tradition under former owner Roman Abramovich.
