Doyle: Zavateri the Main Contender in Greenham Stakes
Jockey Hollie Doyle shares her thoughts on the upcoming racing events in her exclusive blog. Trainer Archie Watson is sending two promising young horses to Thirsk, where Doyle will be riding them on Saturday. Doyle's first ride will be on NIEWIADOMA, a two-year-old making her debut in the British EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes. Doyle has been impressed with the horse's natural speed and attitude during training sessions. The competition for NIEWIADOMA includes Karl Burke's daughter of Blue Point Bai Tong, who was purchased for 125,000gns. Doyle will also be riding MERLIER in the Stirrup Bar For Deli-Style Dinning Packages Handicap. MERLIER has shown progress on the All-Weather and Doyle is looking forward to getting back on the horse. In other racing news, Doyle believes ZAVATERI is the one to beat in the Greenham Stakes at Newbury on Saturday. ZAVATERI has set the standard after winning the Group 1 National Stakes in Ireland and Doyle expects the horse to perform well. The Dubai Duty Free Stakes, also known as the Fred Darling, is expected to be an open renewal with several fillies having similar prospects. Doyle will be riding for various trainers, including Wilf Storey and Mark Walford, and is hoping for a successful day of racing.
