Augusta National Golf Tournament: Final Standings

The final standings for the Masters golf tournament, the first major of the year, have been released. The tournament, held at Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia, saw Rory McIlroy make history by successfully defending his title. McIlroy's victory marked the first time a player has defended the title since Tiger Woods. World No 1 Scottie Scheffler was the pre-tournament favorite but ultimately finished a shot behind McIlroy, who carded a one-under 71. Tyrrell Hatton, Justin Rose, Cameron Young, and Russell Henley were tied for third place. The top 10 was rounded out by Collin Morikawa, Sam Burns, Max Homa, and Xander Schauffele. The Masters is the first of four major golf tournaments to be held in the coming months, followed by the PGA Championship, US Open, and The Open. The PGA Tour will next head to South Carolina for the RBC Heritage at Hilton Head Island, where Justin Thomas will look to defend his title.
