Billam-Smith Sets Sights on Opetaia After Joining Zuffa

Following his signing with Zuffa Boxing, Chris Billam-Smith has expressed his desire to face Jai Opetaia, aiming to solidify his position as "the best in the world". Billam-Smith, a former WBO cruiserweight world title holder, is eager to prove his worth after losing his title to Gilberto Ramirez and subsequently defeating Zuffa stablemate Brandon Glanton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. With Opetaia recently becoming the inaugural Zuffa world cruiserweight champion, Billam-Smith believes their shared promoter and division make a matchup inevitable. "We are two of the most prominent names in the cruiserweight division, and we're both under the same promoter," Billam-Smith stated. He emphasized that this fight is a key reason for his decision to sign with Zuffa, as it will provide him with the opportunity to demonstrate his superiority by beating the best. Billam-Smith, who has been in a training camp since January, is looking to announce his next fight soon and hopes to eventually compete in the UK, preferably in his hometown of Bournemouth.
