Ben Woolliss Set for Sky Sports Return After Electrifying ONE Debut

Following his remarkable ONE Championship debut, British fighter Ben Woolliss is slated to return to the ring on May 16, with the event being broadcast live on Sky Sports. Woolliss will face off against Petchtanong Petchfergus in a bantamweight kickboxing match at the Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand, also streaming live on Sky Sports in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 16. This bout, part of ONE Fight Night 43, pits Woolliss against a former ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion, Petchfergus. Despite struggling with long-term health issues, Woolliss, hailing from Grimsby, signed with ONE and made his promotional debut just last month. On short notice of nine days, he accepted his first fight, taking on former ONE bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker in a featherweight kickboxing contest. Lineker, known for his formidable punching power, was defeated by Woolliss in a spectacular one-round stoppage, courtesy of Woolliss's damaging low kicks. The main event on May 16 features Chinese star Tang Kai as he defends his ONE featherweight MMA world title for the second time against Shamil "The Cobra" Gasanov. Tang Kai has dominated the featherweight MMA division, while Gasanov boasts a near-perfect record, leveraging his stand-up skills, grappling prowess, and submission expertise to overpower opponents. After avenging his sole career loss, Gasanov is poised to strike, potentially proving unstoppable.
