Adam Peaty Claims British 100m Title, Sets Sights on Los Angeles 2028 Olympics

Triple Olympic gold medalist Adam Peaty emerged victorious in the 100 meters breaststroke event at the Aquatic Great Britain Swimming Championships, setting his focus on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. With a time of 58.97 seconds, Peaty achieved the second-fastest time globally this season, hinting at a strong medal contender in two years. He outperformed world junior champion Filip Nowacki and Max Morgan, who secured second and third places with times of 59.39 and 59.56 seconds, respectively. Despite his win, Peaty acknowledged there is still room for improvement, expressing his desire to push his limits and achieve a sub-57 second time. The six-time Olympic medalist stated, 'I'm a racer, and I just want to extract the best of myself.' Peaty, who has been training diligently, aims to make the most of his time in the water, having overcome a challenging period that included mental health issues and a break from swimming in 2023. With his sights set on the 2028 Olympics, Peaty has the potential to become the oldest British swimmer to win an Olympic gold medal at the age of 33.
