Maro Itoje has expressed his confidence in Steve Borthwick's leadership, stating that England is capable of achieving remarkable feats under his guidance, despite a disappointing Six Nations campaign. England's poor performance saw them finish fifth, with four consecutive losses, including a historic defeat to Italy. However, RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney has given Borthwick the opportunity to redeem himself with the upcoming summer tour fixtures in the Nations Championship. Itoje acknowledges that England fell short of expectations, but believes that Borthwick and his coaching staff can reverse the team's fortunes.
'We have faith in our approach,' Itoje said, 'and I firmly believe that this team will accomplish great things. We just need to learn from our mistakes, come together, and move forward positively.'
