Dundee United Snatch Victory with Late Penalty

A dramatic late penalty from Zac Sapsford gave Dundee United a thrilling 3-2 victory over Livingston at Tannadice. The home team took the lead in the first half through Will Ferry, but Livingston fought back with two goals from Lewis Smith after the break. However, substitute Krisztian Keresztes equalized for Dundee United, setting the stage for Sapsford's late winner from the penalty spot. The result leaves Dundee United in seventh place in the Premiership, while Livingston remains at the bottom. Dundee United made four changes to their starting lineup, with Dave Richards, Sam Cleall-Harding, Ryan Strain, and Sapsford coming in. The visitors, on the other hand, retained the same lineup that drew with Hearts the previous Sunday. Livingston had the first scoring opportunity when Babacar Fati's shot went wide in the fourth minute. Dundee United suffered a setback when star player Amar Fatah was forced off with a hamstring injury, replaced by Neil Farrugia. Despite this, the home team took the lead in the 19th minute through Ferry's low shot. Livingston finished the half strongly, with Cammy Kerr's long throw and Joel Nouble's flick requiring a smart save from Richards. The visitors equalized four minutes into the second half when Nouble set up Smith for the goal. Smith scored again in the 53rd minute, but Dundee United equalized in the 75th minute through Keresztes' powerful header. As the game seemed headed for a draw, Livingston conceded a penalty in added time when Brooklyn Kabongolo fouled Sapsford, who converted the penalty to seal the win. Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin admitted that his team 'stole the points' and was pleased with the victory. Livingston boss Marvin Bartley felt that his team's mistakes cost them the game, saying that 'you deserve what you get in football.'
