The final standings from the Masters, the year's inaugural major tournament, are in. Held at Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia, the event saw Rory McIlroy successfully defend his title. McIlroy made history by becoming the first player to achieve a career Grand Slam since Tiger Woods. World No 1 Scottie Scheffler was the pre-tournament favorite but ultimately finished a shot behind McIlroy, who posted a one-under 71.
Tyrrell Hatton, Justin Rose, Cameron Young, and Russell Henley tied for third, while Collin Morikawa and Sam Burns shared seventh place. The top 10 was rounded out by Max Homa and Xander Schauffele. A field of 91 players competed in the major, which is the first of four in as many months in men's golf.
The PGA Championship, US Open, and The Open follow. The PGA Tour now heads to South Carolina for the RBC Heritage, where Justin Thomas will defend his title.
