Hull FC Exit Leaves Cartwright Feeling Betrayed

Former Hull FC head coach John Cartwright expressed feelings of betrayal and disrespect following the confirmation of his departure from the club. The announcement, made on April 7, stated that Cartwright would be leaving at the end of the current Betfred Super League season, with the club choosing to exercise a six-month termination clause. Cartwright, who had been at the helm since the start of the 2025 campaign, was caught off guard by the decision and has yet to receive an explanation from the club. In a recent interview, Cartwright stated, 'I still haven't been given a reason, to be honest with you. I don't know. I have asked and I expect to sit down with someone in the not-too-distant future.' Despite the circumstances, Cartwright has pledged to continue performing his duties without compromising the team's performance. The club has already begun the process of finding a new coach for the 2027 season and currently sits ninth in the Super League standings.
