Baumgardner, who holds the IBF, WBO, and WBA super-featherweight titles, is set to defend her belts against Bo Mi Re Shin in New York. Dubois has been vocal about her desire to fight Baumgardner, but thinks her American counterpart will struggle against Shin.
'She's fighting an opponent I've already beaten,' Dubois said. 'I want her to win, as she's a big name who does everything right in terms of promotion and buildup.' However, Dubois also expressed concerns about Baumgardner's chances against Shin, stating, 'I think it will be a tough fight, and Bo will expose what I know and see.' Dubois is increasing the pressure on Baumgardner to agree to a fight, saying, 'She doesn't want the fight. Every time Alycia Baumgardner's name is mentioned, people bring up my name. They're calling for a fight between us, and I don't see why we shouldn't give the fans what they want.' Dubois will continue to verbally challenge Baumgardner, stating, 'I'm not playing the villain; I'm just confident and speaking my mind.' If a fight with Baumgardner can't be made, Dubois has other options, including a potential matchup against Elif Nur Turhan, the current IBF champion at 135lbs.
'I don't think she's a skilled fighter, but she's dangerous, and that's what makes the fight exciting,' Dubois said. 'I want to continue progressing and be involved in the biggest fights to create a great legacy for myself.'
