Crystal Palace Overcome Fiorentina Comeback to Secure Conference League Semi-Finals Spot
Crystal Palace has advanced to the semi-finals of the Conference League with a 4-2 aggregate win over Fiorentina, despite losing the second leg 2-1 in Florence. Ismaila Sarr's early header initially put the Eagles in a comfortable position, but Fiorentina fought back with goals on either side of Adam Wharton and Maxence Lacroix's injury substitutions. Although La Viola's second-leg performance improved upon their first-leg display, it was insufficient to prevent Palace from reaching their first European semi-final, where they will face Shakhtar Donetsk. Palace are the fifth English club to reach the Conference League last four, following in the footsteps of Chelsea, West Ham, Leicester, and Aston Villa.
