I Am Maximus etched his name in history books by becoming the first horse to reclaim the Grand National title since the iconic Red Rum, with a thrilling victory in the 2026 Randox Grand National. The race was marked by early drama, including the fall of last year's third-place finisher Grangeclare West and Panic Attack. However, I Am Maximus, skillfully ridden by Paul Townend, tracked the inside path to perfection and stormed home to secure a record fourth win for owner JP McManus. This achievement also marked a first for one owner to have the first two horses cross the finish line, with Iroko taking second place. Trainer Willie Mullins, who joined an elite group of four-time National-winning handlers, praised the horse and the strategic decision to keep him in Aintree, saying, "It was a superb call from JP...
