Baumgardner Challenges Dubois to Prove Herself Before a Potential Fight

American boxer Alycia Baumgardner believes that Caroline Dubois needs to further establish herself as a champion before a potential match between the two can take place. Baumgardner is set to defend her unified WBA, WBO, and IBF super-featherweight world titles against Bo Mi Re Shin. Following her recent victory over Terri Harper, Dubois expressed interest in facing Baumgardner, but the American remains unimpressed. Baumgardner suggests that Dubois should continue to build her reputation and possibly become the undisputed champion at 135lbs before calling her out. Meanwhile, Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promoters, recommends that Dubois should focus on unifying the lightweight division before pursuing a fight with Baumgardner. Alternatively, Baumgardner could face Caroline Veyre, the WBC belt-holder at 130lbs, in a bid to become the undisputed champion at super-featherweight. Bidarian's company, Most Valuable Promotions, aims to create a deep roster of talent in women's boxing and become the reference brand for the sport.
