Riakporhe Aims to Intimidate in Heavyweight Division

Richard Riakporhe is set to compete in his third heavyweight bout as he challenges Jeamie TKV for the British title on Saturday. The London-born fighters will face off on the undercard of the highly anticipated Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Following his loss to Chris Billam-Smith in the WBO cruiserweight title challenge, Riakporhe transitioned to the heavyweight division, achieving knockout victories over Kevin Nicolas Espindola and Tommy Welch. He now seeks to claim his first title in the division. Riakporhe is determined to deliver a dominant performance against TKV, saying, "I'm a serious contender in the heavyweight division, and those who doubt me will soon realize their mistake." He warns that his powerful punches can catch opponents off guard, making it challenging for TKV to maintain his brand of inside fighting for the entire 12 rounds. TKV, however, remains confident, stating, "I aim to dominate every aspect of the fight, whether it's at mid-range, long-range, or inside." The champion also cautions that he has a history of hurting his opponents, even in fights that go the distance. Riakporhe hopes that a win will propel him into world title contention, citing the rich history of British heavyweight title fights as a springboard for success. With several top fighters nearing the end of their careers, Riakporhe anticipates that world championships will become vacant, creating opportunities for himself and other rising stars to compete for the titles.
