Augusta National Golf Tournament: Final Results and Standings

The final standings for the Masters golf tournament, the first major event of the year, are now available. Held at the prestigious Augusta National course in Augusta, Georgia, the competition saw Rory McIlroy successfully defend his title. As the defending champion, McIlroy made history by becoming the first player to achieve this feat since Tiger Woods. Despite being the pre-tournament favorite, Scottie Scheffler came up short, finishing one stroke behind McIlroy. Tyrrell Hatton, Justin Rose, Cameron Young, and Russell Henley all tied for third place, while Collin Morikawa and Sam Burns shared seventh position. The top 10 was rounded out by Max Homa and Xander Schauffele. This year's Masters was the first of four major golf tournaments, followed by the PGA Championship in May, the US Open in June, and the Open in July. The PGA Tour will now head to South Carolina for the RBC Heritage, where Justin Thomas will look to defend his title.
