Itoje Expresses Confidence in Borthwick's Leadership

Maro Itoje has voiced his unwavering support for Steve Borthwick, emphasizing that England is capable of achieving remarkable feats under his guidance, despite a disappointing Six Nations campaign. England's Six Nations run was marred by four consecutive losses, including a historic defeat to Italy, resulting in a fifth-place finish. However, RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney has hinted that Borthwick will be given the opportunity to redeem himself during the summer's Nations Championship. Itoje acknowledges that England's performance fell short of expectations, given their 11-Test winning streak prior to the tournament. Nevertheless, he remains optimistic about Borthwick and his coaching staff's ability to reverse the team's fortunes. "We have faith in our approach," Itoje stated, praising Borthwick and his team of coaches. "We need to come together, learn from our mistakes, and move forward in a positive direction. Although our results were not what we had hoped for, my confidence in the team remains unshaken. I firmly believe that this England team will accomplish great things; we just need to learn from our experiences and press on."
