Billam-Smith Sets Sights on Opetaia After Joining Zuffa Boxing
Following his recent signing with Zuffa Boxing, Chris Billam-Smith is eager to face Jai Opetaia, aiming to solidify his position as the world's best. Billam-Smith, a former WBO cruiserweight world titleholder, will now compete live on Sky Sports. After losing his title to Gilberto Ramirez, he bounced back with a win over Brandon Glanton at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Opetaia, also a Zuffa fighter, became the inaugural Zuffa world cruiserweight champion last month with a unanimous decision victory over Glanton. Billam-Smith expressed his desire to fight Opetaia, citing their shared promoter and his goal of proving himself as the best in the world by beating the best. With a multi-fight deal with Zuffa, Billam-Smith is set to return to the ring after over a year, having been in training camp since January, and is looking forward to an upcoming fight announcement.
