The 23-year-old sustained the injury during the Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield and scans have confirmed a rupture of the Achilles tendon. As a result, Ekitike will be sidelined for at least six months, potentially up to nine months, dealing a significant blow to both Liverpool and the French national team. France head coach Didier Deschamps expressed his support for Ekitike, stating that the player's disappointment is immense but he is convinced Ekitike will regain his top form.
