Golf Legends Rally Around Tiger Woods, Offering Support and Words of Caution
Tiger Woods has received an outpouring of support from golfing greats Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus as he continues to focus on his health and recovery. The 15-time major champion is currently absent from the sport, having been involved in a car crash last month and subsequently seeking treatment. Prior to the accident, Woods was working towards making another competitive comeback from injury. Gary Player expressed sympathy for Woods' ongoing pain, but urged him to exercise caution and refrain from driving, citing the dangers of operating a vehicle while taking medication. Player suggested that Woods consider hiring a chauffeur, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing his safety and well-being. Jack Nicklaus also offered words of encouragement, stating that golf needs Woods and wishing him a speedy recovery. Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley confirmed that the organization supports Woods' decision to focus on his health, reaffirming their commitment to the TGR Foundation and wishing him the best. Woods has played in only 11 official tournaments since November 2020 and has not made a competitive appearance since The Open in July 2024.
