Rose Refreshed and Ready for Masters Challenge

Justin Rose remains unfazed by the pressure to make amends for last year's playoff loss at The Masters, as he surges into contention at Augusta National. A year after narrowly missing out to Rory McIlroy, Rose is once again in the running for a major victory following rounds of 70 and 69. He attributes his past near-misses as 'a lesson that I can win here.' Rose expressed his satisfaction with being in contention, stating it feels like a continuation of being on the leaderboard and keeping his dream alive. He insists that he doesn't feel any added pressure due to last year's outcome, instead focusing on enjoying the competition and the crowd's energy. Rose recovered from an opening-hole bogey to post four birdies in a five-hole stretch, eventually finishing five under. Fellow Englishman Tyrrell Hatton also made a move up the leaderboard with a six-under 66, despite a bogey at the last hole. Hatton was pleased with his performance, acknowledging the difficulty of making seven birdies at Augusta. World No 1 Scottie Scheffler, however, had a disappointing round, bogeying both par-fives on the second nine to finish two-over 74. Scheffler felt he played better than his score suggests, but struggled with conversions and decision-making on certain shots.
