Three-time Olympic gold medalist Adam Peaty secured the 100 meters breaststroke title at the Aquatic Great Britain Swimming Championships, positioning himself for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. His time of 58.97 seconds ranked as the second-fastest globally this season, indicating the 32-year-old could be a strong contender for medals in two years. Peaty outperformed world junior champion Filip Nowacki and Max Morgan, finishing in 59.39 and 59.56 seconds, respectively. Despite his victory, Peaty acknowledged there was still room for improvement, stating, 'I didn't think I could achieve that result, so that's now the benchmark.' The six-time Olympic medalist expressed his desire to push himself further, saying, 'I'm a racer, and I want to extract the best from myself.'
