Riakporhe Aims to Intimidate in the Heavyweight Division
Richard Riakporhe is set to compete in his third heavyweight bout as he challenges Jeamie TKV for the British title on Saturday. The match will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as part of the undercard for the Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov fight. Following his loss to Chris Billam-Smith in the WBO cruiserweight title challenge, Riakporhe transitioned to the heavyweight division, where he has achieved knockout victories over Kevin Nicolas Espindola and Tommy Welch. He is now determined to claim his first title in the division. Riakporhe intends to deliver a powerful performance against TKV, stating, 'I am a serious player in the heavyweight division, and those who underestimate me are mistaken.' He warned that his opponents will soon recognize his abilities and acknowledge him as a formidable force. However, TKV's aggressive fighting style may pose a challenge for Riakporhe. The challenger cautioned, 'You're facing a puncher, and one mistake can be costly in a 12-round fight.' TKV also issued a warning, stating, 'I aim to dominate every aspect of the fight, whether it's mid-range, long-range, or inside.' Riakporhe hopes that winning the British title will propel him into world title contention, citing the rich history of British heavyweight title fights and the upcoming vacancies in world championships.
