The final leaderboard for the Masters golf tournament, the first major of the year, is now available. The competition, held at Augusta National in Georgia, saw Rory McIlroy successfully defend his title. McIlroy made history by becoming the first player to achieve this feat since Tiger Woods. World number one Scottie Scheffler was the pre-tournament favorite but ultimately finished a shot behind McIlroy, who posted a one-under 71.
Tyrrell Hatton, Justin Rose, Cameron Young, and Russell Henley tied for third place. The top 10 was rounded out by Collin Morikawa, Sam Burns, Max Homa, and Xander Schauffele.
A total of 91 players participated in the tournament, which is the first of four majors in the men's golf calendar. The next major, the PGA Championship, will take place from May 14-17 at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania.
The PGA Tour will now head to South Carolina for the RBC Heritage, where Justin Thomas will defend his title.
