Woods has been dealing with the aftermath of a car accident and is seeking treatment. Player, while sympathizing with Woods' chronic pain, advised him to refrain from driving, suggesting that hiring a chauffeur would be a safer option. Player emphasized that taking medication and driving can be hazardous, similar to using a cell phone while behind the wheel. Nicklaus also offered words of encouragement, stating that golf needs Woods and would love to have him back. Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley confirmed that the organization supports Woods' decision to prioritize his health and well-being. Woods has only participated in a limited number of tournaments since November 2020, with his most recent appearance being at The Open in July 2024.
