Celtic's Johnston Returns to Training, Araujo's Season May Be Over
Celtic has welcomed back long-term absentee Alistair Johnston to training, but Julian Araujo's season may be over due to a recurring thigh injury. Johnston, who has been out since October with a hamstring issue, rejoined his teammates at the club's Lennoxtown training complex ahead of the upcoming Scottish Premiership match against St Mirren. Araujo, on the other hand, has suffered a setback in his recovery from a thigh problem and may not feature for Celtic again this season. According to Celtic boss Martin O'Neill, Johnston's return to training was 'very encouraging' and the player may be available soon. However, Araujo's injury has dealt a significant blow to the team, with O'Neill stating that he may not see him again if the injury is the same one he initially suffered. The team is also dealing with other injuries, including a hamstring issue that will keep right-back Colby Donovan out of the upcoming match. Despite these challenges, O'Neill is pleased to see the Green Brigade, the team's ultras group, return to Celtic Park after a five-month ban. The team is currently third in the Scottish Premiership, three points behind leaders Hearts, and O'Neill acknowledges that being in Hearts' position would be preferable at this point in the season.
