Thomas Partey Denies New Rape Allegations

Ex-Arsenal footballer Thomas Partey has denied two new allegations of rape. The 32-year-old midfielder appeared in court on Monday, pleading not guilty to the charges, which relate to an alleged incident in London in December 2020. Partey was previously charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, to which he also pleaded not guilty. The new allegations bring the total number of charges against him to seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, involving four different women. A trial was initially set for November this year, but it may now be delayed until January next year. Partey, who currently plays for Villarreal, is on bail with the condition that he does not contact the alleged victims. He is expected to play for Ghana in the World Cup this summer. The case is set to be heard in court again on May 14 for a pre-trial hearing, where a decision on the exact trial date will be made.
