Following his hard-fought victory over Regis Prograis, Conor Benn has expressed his eagerness to challenge WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia. Benn secured a unanimous decision win against the former world champion at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, despite suffering cuts above his eye due to several head clashes. After the fight, Benn immediately turned his attention to Garcia, stating 'Garcia, I want my belt! Keep my belt warm' in a social media video. Garcia, who claimed the WBC welterweight title in February by defeating Mario Barrios, has responded positively to the challenge, saying 'I'm down. Garcia vs Benn. Let's do it.' Benn's victory over Prograis, which improved his fight record to 25-1, was fought at a catchweight 3lb above the welterweight limit. Benn has predominantly fought at welterweight throughout his career, with his sole professional loss coming against Chris Eubank Jr at 160lb, a defeat he avenged last year. Prograis pushed Benn to his limits on Saturday, but the latter's superior speed and energy ultimately earned him a comfortable points victory. He also expressed his readiness to move down to 147lb to face Garcia, stating 'My first fight back at 150 for three years and now I'm ready to move down to 147 to get Ryan Garcia.'
