According to Dillian Whyte, a fight against Deontay Wilder would be a sensible choice for Anthony Joshua's next bout, but he believes Joshua is rushing back into the ring too quickly. Joshua's last fight was in December, and he has since been involved in a fatal car accident in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two close friends. Following his victory over Derek Chisora, Wilder expressed interest in facing Joshua, while Whyte downplayed the possibility of a rematch against his old rival. Whyte stated, 'I'd love it, but no one has mentioned it to me, and I don't know about it. AJ is probably looking to fight Deontay Wilder now; it's the fight that makes sense.' He also predicted that if Joshua were to fight Wilder, he would likely emerge victorious and knock Wilder out. However, Whyte thinks Joshua should take more time to recover, considering the emotional toll of the recent accident and the anticipated showdown with Tyson Fury later this year. Whyte said, 'I think he's getting back in the ring too soon. He needs more time to process and come to terms with what's happening. The loss he's experienced is significant, and he should take the time to digest it and reassess his mental state.' Whyte, who suffered a first-round knockout defeat to Moses Itauma in August, has yet to confirm his next steps but maintains that he is not considering retirement, saying, 'I know who I am, and I know I can still compete at the top level.
