Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has made history by becoming the youngest player to score a century in the IPL, achieving this feat just nine days after his record-breaking debut at the age of 14 in 2025. Now, at 15, India's newest cricket sensation continues to impress, sparking demands for his inclusion on the international stage. Sooryavanshi's debut IPL season was marked by a remarkable 35-ball hundred as a 14-year-old, and he has consistently demonstrated his ability to excel under pressure with the Rajasthan Royals in the 2026 edition. With two 15-ball fifties against the Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he is currently the third-highest run-scorer in the tournament, having amassed 200 runs from five innings at an impressive strike rate of 263.15. Although a golden duck in the recent defeat to the Sunrisers Hyderabad served as a reminder of his mortality, Sooryavanshi's extraordinary ball-striking power, physical presence, and composure at the crease have left seasoned professionals in awe. "It's unbelievable how he can hit the ball like that; he's an incredible talent, and we feel fortunate to have him on our team," said India and Rajasthan Royals wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel. With potential international teammates like Jurel praising his abilities, the question arises as to how long India can afford to overlook Sooryavanshi.
