Triple Olympic gold medalist Adam Peaty emerged victorious in the 100 meters breaststroke event at the British Swimming Championships, setting his focus on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Peaty's impressive time of 58.97 seconds marked the second-fastest time globally this season, hinting at his potential to claim another medal in two years. He outperformed world junior champion Filip Nowacki, who secured second place with a time of 59.39, and Max Morgan, who finished in 59.56. However, Peaty acknowledged that there is still room for improvement, stating, 'I didn't think I could achieve that result, so that's the new benchmark.' The six-time Olympic medalist expressed his desire to push himself further, saying, 'I'm a competitor, and I want to bring out the best in myself.' Peaty, who has been training diligently, added, 'I've got nothing to lose, so why not give it my all and take the risk?' This victory comes almost a year after Peaty confirmed his decision to continue competing.
