England's Jones and Bern Identify Areas for Improvement After Convincing Win

Megan Jones and Sarah Bern acknowledged that despite England's 33-12 victory over Ireland in the Women's Six Nations, there is still room for growth. The world champions, who defeated Canada in the World Cup final in September, secured their 34th consecutive Test win with tries from Bern, Amy Cockayne, Jess Breach, and Ellie Kildunne. England's performance, although sufficient to claim a bonus-point win in front of a record crowd of 77,120 at Allianz Stadium, was not flawless. Jones, who led the team for the first time in the absence of World Cup-winning captain Zoe Stratford, recognized the presence of nerves and the need for improvement. "Given the magnitude of this campaign following our World Cup win, some nervousness was inevitable," Jones stated. "We aspired to play before large crowds, and that's precisely what we achieved today. We found our footing, which is characteristic of a winning team. I'm proud of the girls, and I'm sure we'll refine our performance." With only seven players from the World Cup final win participating, Bern noted that the revamped team was unlikely to immediately gel.
