Aston Martin's Struggles to Continue Throughout 2026 Season

Martin Brundle believes Aston Martin's current woes in the 2026 F1 season will persist for some time. Despite the promising additions of Adrian Newey and a partnership with Honda, the team has had a dismal start, failing to score a point in the first three races. With Fernando Alonso's 18th-place finish in Japan being the only time an Aston Martin car has completed a full Grand Prix, the team is struggling with both speed and reliability. Brundle stated that the team's issues are deep-seated and will be difficult to resolve due to the championship calendar and cost caps. He expects the team to improve eventually but not until 2027. Aston Martin and Honda are working to address engine vibrations and upgrade their package, with the Miami Grand Prix in May being a key target for improvement. Fellow commentator David Croft echoed Brundle's sentiments, saying that the team's problems are a long-term project and that scoring a point will be a challenge unless multiple other cars retire.
