Ben Woolliss Set for Sky Sports Return After Electrifying ONE Debut
Following his remarkable debut in the ONE Championship, British fighter Ben Woolliss is scheduled to make his return on May 16, with the event being broadcast live on Sky Sports. Woolliss will face off against Petchtanong Petchfergus in a bantamweight kickboxing match at the Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand, which will air on Sky Sports in the early hours of Saturday, May 16. This upcoming bout at ONE Fight Night 43 will see Woolliss going up against a former ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion, Petchfergus. Despite struggling with long-term health issues, Woolliss, hailing from Grimsby, recently signed with ONE and made a successful promotional debut last month. He accepted his first fight on short notice, just nine days prior, and competed against former ONE bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker in a featherweight kickboxing match. Lineker is infamous for his incredible punching power, but Woolliss secured a spectacular victory, defeating "Hands of Stone" with a one-round stoppage due to his damaging low kicks. The main event on May 16 features Chinese star Tang Kai as he defends his ONE featherweight MMA world title for the second time, this time against Shamil "The Cobra" Gasanov. Tang Kai has dominated all his opponents in the featherweight MMA category, while Gasanov boasts an almost flawless record, leveraging his stand-up skills, grappling prowess, and expertise in submissions to overwhelm his opponents. After avenging his sole career loss, "The Cobra" is now poised to strike and may prove to be an unstoppable force.
