England's Joe Launchbury Announces Retirement Plans

Veteran England lock Joe Launchbury has announced that he will be hanging up his boots at the end of the season. Launchbury, 35, has had a distinguished career, earning 70 caps for England between 2012 and 2022. During this period, he won three Six Nations titles and participated in the 2015 and 2019 Rugby World Cups. After moving to Quins from Toyota Verblitz in 2023, he made 50 appearances, although his current season has been limited to just six games. In a statement on the Harlequins' website, Launchbury reflected on his decision: "The time feels right to step away from rugby at the end of this season."
