Lampard and Hellberg Shortlisted for EFL Championship Manager of the Season Award

The nominees for the 2026 EFL Awards have been announced, with Frank Lampard, Alex Neil, Sergej Jakirovic, and Kim Hellberg vying for the EFL Championship Manager of the Season award. The winners will be revealed at the annual ceremony on April 19, broadcast live on Sky Sports Football. Lampard, manager of Coventry City, is a strong contender after leading his team to the top of the table. He is joined by Neil (Millwall), Jakirovic (Hull City), and Hellberg (Middlesbrough), whose teams are all in the running for promotion. The EFL Championship Player of the Season award will be contested by Hayden Hackney (Middlesbrough), Carl Rushworth (Coventry City), Femi Azeez (Millwall), and Zan Vipotnik (Swansea City), the division's top scorer. In League One, the Manager of the Season award will be contested by Michael Skubala (Lincoln City), Graham Alexander (Bradford City), Brian Barry-Murphy (Cardiff City), and Alex Revell (Stevenage). The Player of the Season award in League One will be contested by Dom Ballard (Leyton Orient), Owen Bailey (Doncaster Rovers), Jack Moylan (Lincoln City), and Sonny Bradley (Lincoln City). In League Two, the Manager of the Season award will be contested by Andy Woodman (Bromley), Paul Warne (MK Dons), Micky Mellon (Oldham Athletic), and Neil Harris (Cambridge United), while the Player of the Season award will be contested by Mitch Pinnock and Omar Sowumni (Bromley), Aaron Drinan (Swindon Town), and Callum Paterson (Milton Keynes Dons). The EFL Young Player of the Season awards will recognize the best young talent across the league, and the EFL Teams of the Season and Goal of the Season will be revealed on the night. The Contribution to League Football and Sir Tom Finney awards will also be presented, honoring individuals who have made significant contributions to the league. Seven additional off-the-pitch awards will be presented, including the Community Club of the Season award, which will be contested by Blackburn Rovers, Plymouth Argyle, and Bristol Rovers.
