ICC Confirms Record-Breaking Prize Fund for Women's T20 World Cup 2026

A significant increase of 10 per cent has been announced by the International Cricket Council in the total prize fund for the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup 2026, set to take place in England and Wales. The winning team will receive $2.34m, while the runners-up will take home $1.17m. All participating teams are guaranteed a minimum of $247,500. The tournament, featuring 12 teams, is expected to break attendance and viewing records, with a record prize pool of $8,765m. The event, scheduled to start on June 12, will be held across seven venues over 24 days, with 33 matches lined up. ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta expressed the organization's commitment to building a stronger global game, highlighting the growth of women's cricket. Tournament director Beth Barrett-Wild emphasized the landmark moment for the game, with record-breaking ticket demand and the largest-ever prize pot for a global women's T20 competition. The trophy tour will play a key role in building excitement ahead of the tournament, visiting qualified European nations and hosting cities before the first ball is bowled.
