Whyte cautions Joshua about rushing back to the ring, suggests Wilder as a suitable opponent

Dillian Whyte believes Anthony Joshua is making a premature return to boxing and thinks a fight against Deontay Wilder would be a sensible choice for his next bout. Joshua's last fight was in December, and since then, he has been involved in a fatal car accident in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two close friends. Following his victory over Derek Chisora, Wilder expressed interest in facing Joshua, while Whyte downplayed the possibility of a rematch between him and his old rival. Whyte stated, 'I'd love to fight AJ, but no one has approached me, and I think he's more likely to face Wilder now, which makes sense.' He also predicted that if Joshua were to fight Wilder, he would emerge victorious and possibly knock Wilder out. However, Whyte thinks Joshua should take more time to recover and process his recent experiences before returning to the ring, citing the emotional toll of the car accident and the potential threat it poses to his upcoming fight against Tyson Fury. Whyte, who suffered a first-round knockout defeat to Moses Itauma in August, admitted that his performance was not representative of his true abilities and expressed his intention to learn from his mistakes and continue competing at the top level.
