Hull FC Exit Leaves Cartwright Feeling Betrayed and Disrespected

Former Hull FC head coach John Cartwright has expressed feelings of betrayal and disrespect following his departure from the club. The announcement of his exit was made by Hull FC on April 7, stating that Cartwright would be leaving at the end of the Betfred Super League season. Despite the news, Cartwright claims he has yet to receive an explanation for the decision. In a recent interview, Cartwright stated, 'I still haven't been given a reason, to be honest with you. I don't know. I have asked and I expect to sit down with someone in the not-too-distant future.' Cartwright, who took over at the MKM Stadium in 2025, led the team to a seventh-placed finish, their highest since 2020. The club has already begun the process of finding a new coach for the 2027 season. Cartwright, who currently has the team sitting ninth in Super League, has assured that he will continue to do his job and maintain his loyalty to the players.
