Adam Peaty Secures British 100m Title with Sights Set on Los Angeles 2028

Three-time Olympic gold medalist Adam Peaty emerged victorious in the 100 meters breaststroke event at the Aquatic Great Britain Swimming Championships, setting his focus on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. With a time of 58.97 seconds, Peaty achieved the second-fastest time globally this season, indicating his potential to medal again in two years. He outperformed world junior champion Filip Nowacki, who secured second place with a time of 59.39, and Max Morgan, who finished in 59.56. Despite his success, Peaty believes there is still room for improvement. 'I didn't think I could achieve that result, so that's now the marker, that's the baseline,' the six-time Olympic medalist stated. 'The goal is to transform that into a low 57 again. As a racer, I strive to extract the best from myself.' Peaty expressed his continued dedication to the sport, training daily and seeking to maximize his time in the water. It has been nearly a year since Peaty, who recently got married, confirmed his decision to continue competing. Having won the Olympic 100m breaststroke title at Rio 2016 and retained it at Tokyo 2020, Peaty aims to become the oldest British swimmer to win an Olympic gold medal in 2028, at the age of 33.
