Riakporhe Aims to Strike Fear in the Heavyweight Division

Richard Riakporhe is set to compete in his third heavyweight bout as he challenges Jeamie TKV for the British title on Saturday. The fight will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as part of the undercard for the Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov match. Following his loss to Chris Billam-Smith in the WBO cruiserweight title challenge, Riakporhe moved up to the heavyweight division, where he has achieved knockout victories over Kevin Nicolas Espindola and Tommy Welch. He now seeks to claim his first title in the division. Riakporhe intends to demonstrate his formidable power against TKV, stating, 'I am a serious contender in the heavyweight division, and those who doubt me are mistaken.' He believes that his opponents will soon recognize his abilities and warn others about the 'Midnight Train.' However, TKV's aggressive fighting style may pose a challenge for Riakporhe. The challenger cautioned, 'You're facing a puncher, and one mistake can be costly in a 12-round fight.' Riakporhe feels that he has yet to showcase his full potential and is eager to make a statement. 'I haven't had my moment yet, but it's coming soon,' he said. TKV also issued a warning, stating, 'I aim to dominate all aspects of the fight, whether it's at close range, mid-range, or long-range.' The champion asserted, 'I hurt my opponents, even those I've gone the distance with.' Riakporhe hopes that a British title win will propel him into world title contention. He noted, 'Historically, British heavyweight title fights have been incredible, with many big names emerging from these bouts.' With several top fighters nearing the end of their careers, Riakporhe anticipates that world championships will become available soon. 'Don't be surprised to see us competing for world titles in the near future,' he said. 'Once we achieve our goals on April 11, everyone will be talking about me facing the top names in the division.'
