Sky Sports and Kick It Out Renew Partnership
Sky Sports and Kick It Out have announced a one-year extension of their partnership, marking a sixth year of collaboration in promoting diversity and inclusion in football. The partnership, which includes a £1m investment in cash and value-in-kind support, aims to tackle discrimination and create career opportunities in the sport. Over the past year, Sky Sports has supported several Kick It Out initiatives, including the launch of the 'Football United' strategy, a new partnership with Guinness 0.0, and the Raise Your Game programme, which provides opportunities for young people from underrepresented communities. The partnership has also led to the creation of educational content, including a documentary about Kick It Out founder Lord Herman Ouseley, and the development of a digital learning platform, The Academy. Hollie Varney, COO of Kick It Out, praised the partnership, saying it has provided unique education and development opportunities for underrepresented communities in football. David Carrigan, Group Director of Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing at Sky, emphasized the company's long-term commitment to tackling structural inequality in football. The partnership reflects Sky's dedication to creating a more inclusive and representative game, and both organizations look forward to continuing their work together.
