Gary Player Offers Support to Tiger Woods but Urges Caution
Tiger Woods has received words of encouragement from golf legends Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus as he focuses on his health and recovery. Woods, a 15-time major champion, is currently absent from the sport due to health issues and a recent car accident. Player expressed sympathy for Woods' ongoing pain but advised him to refrain from driving, citing the dangers of operating a vehicle while taking medication. Instead, Player suggested that Woods consider hiring a chauffeur for his safety and well-being. Nicklaus also offered his support, stating that golf needs Woods and would love to have him back in the game. Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley confirmed that the organization supports Woods' decision to prioritize his health and well-being, and wishes him the best in his recovery. Woods has been struggling with injuries and has only participated in 11 official tournaments since November 2020, with his last competitive appearance being at The Open in July 2024.
