QPR and Bristol City Play Out Goalless Draw

Queens Park Rangers and Bristol City continued their recent unbeaten streaks with a 0-0 draw at Loftus Road. The Robins, now under the interim charge of Roy Hodgson, have not lost since his appointment and had previously won their first two games under his leadership. Meanwhile, QPR are unbeaten in their last five matches and welcomed back Rumarn Burrell from a three-month injury layoff as a substitute. Bristol City showed more threat in the first half, with Scott Twine missing their best chance with a half-volley. Goalkeeper Joe Walsh made crucial saves, including from Twine, Mark Sykes, and a deflected Emil Riis effort. At the other end, Kieran Morgan shot wide, Richard Kone headed straight at City's goalkeeper Radek Vitek, and Noah Eile almost scored an own goal from Paul Smyth's cross. After the break, Walsh denied Twine again, and Smyth sliced a shot wide following good work by Rayan Kolli. QPR head coach Julien Stephan changed his forward line in the second half, introducing Burrell and Daniel Bennie, but despite the changes, clear-cut chances were hard to come by. Burrell, who scored 10 goals before his injury, received a warm reception from the home fans but couldn't make an immediate impact as Bristol City defended solidly. Under Hodgson, Bristol City have kept back-to-back clean sheets, looking more organized and solid. Both teams worked hard, but the lack of quality was evident, particularly in stoppage time when Tomi Horvat overhit a pass to Delano Burgzorg. QPR's Stephan stated, 'The season isn't finished, and I think the players showed that in their mindset today.' Bristol City's Hodgson added, 'The teams cancelled each other out, but I thought we were more adventurous in the second half, and the chances that were there went our way.'
