Tottenham's Relegation Fears Intensify

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has expressed his belief that Tottenham Hotspur are heading for relegation to the Championship. Following their 1-0 defeat at Sunderland, Spurs are now in the relegation zone with six games remaining, two points behind West Ham in 17th place. Despite being one of the Premier League's 'Big Six', their survival in the top-flight is out of their hands. The team's performance against Sunderland was particularly dismal, with just 0.15 worth of Expected Goals created in the second half and a total of 0.91 worth of xG missed overall. Carragher stated, 'I can't believe it. Tottenham look like they're going to go down. The other teams have something going for them.' With six games left to save their season, Spurs face a challenging run, including matches against fellow relegation rivals Wolves and Leeds. However, Carragher believes they have 'no chance' of beating even the Premier League's bottom club away from home. Gary Neville also weighed in on the situation, saying that any relegation for Tottenham would be a 'monstrous moment' and 'unthinkable'. He added, 'It's as interesting as the title race. The Spurs question - can they go down? Will they go down? Is this the biggest club that's ever gone down in Premier League history?' Former Spurs midfielder Jamie O'Hara was equally critical, ranking the team's chances of survival at just '10 per cent' and stating that manager Roberto De Zerbi is not able to work 'miracles'. O'Hara said, 'They have not won this year. It will be April 18 next weekend and Spurs haven't won in the Premier League. Where are the points coming from? They need seven or eight points. Where are they coming from? I can't see it.' De Zerbi himself acknowledged that the team is in a 'bad moment' but emphasized the need for his players to be stronger and react with enthusiasm. He said, 'We have to be stronger. I understand everything, I can understand it's been a tough season. We are going through a tough moment for everyone. But we have to react, we have to react with enthusiasm, the right spirit.'
