Nicky Richards Seeks to Extend Winning Streak at Hexham

Following a remarkable eight consecutive wins, Nicky Richards is set to field three horses at Hexham for Monday's National Hunt action. Jamesieconn is one of the contenders, chasing a fourth consecutive victory for the in-form Richards team, who have been on a sensational winning streak this spring. Having previously shown a preference for the three-mile distance and good ground when winning at Carlisle, Jamesieconn has been bumped up 5lbs to a mark of 100, which could potentially make a difference, but it would not be surprising if Danny McMenamin's mount rises to the challenge once again. Streamsforth Lad, despite having placed in various races, including hurdles and a chase, across 18 starts, is yet to secure a win but may have been underestimated, still racing off a mark of 97 after showing improvement recently. Stuart Coltherd, who has seen a level-stakes profit of +298 over the last two weeks, will be represented by Rightbackatyou, who was the best of the rest behind Scottish King over this course and distance. Nicky Richards will also be sending out Young Getaway to make his chasing debut, a year after being defeated over hurdles by That One, who is also making his debut over fences. That One, having been well beaten last time out at Newcastle, will have Jack Power's 5lbs claim, effectively reducing his mark to a manageable 105. Other notable entries include the Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore-trained Heads Or Harps and Choose A Copper, with the former having been consistently placing in his last four starts. Grant Wood, trained by Paul Midgley, returns to Gosforth Park, a course where he has seen significant success, including two recent wins. Wicket Keeper, having won twice over six furlongs, finished just over two lengths behind Power Fizz in his latest outing and will be looking to improve, while Paddy's Day will be wearing a tongue-tie for the first time under Nigel Tinkler, and Albasheer, a previous winner of the Constantine Handicap, will be ridden by Hollie Doyle. Gardener, who won more convincingly than the winning margin suggested last time out, returns for the Happy Retirement Maurice & Anne Barnes Handicap Hurdle at 4:30 pm.
