Liverpool Breathe a Sigh of Relief as Ngumoha Steals the Show in Win Over Fulham

Liverpool have ended their three-match losing streak with a convincing 2-0 victory over Fulham, thanks in large part to the impressive performance of 17-year-old Rio Ngumoha. Ngumoha made history by becoming Liverpool's youngest ever Premier League goalscorer at Anfield, scoring at just 17 years and 225 days old. His stunning strike was quickly followed by a classic goal from Mohamed Salah, giving Liverpool a crucial two-goal cushion. Despite Fulham's dominance in the second half, Liverpool held firm, avoiding the concession of two or more goals in the final 20 minutes for the first time in 18 matches. The win provides a welcome boost for Liverpool manager Arne Slot, whose side had won just two of their previous eight games in all competitions. The result also gives Liverpool a four-point cushion in the race for the final Champions League spot, with Chelsea, who are in sixth, facing a tough match against Manchester City. Ngumoha's goal was a standout moment, as he wrong-footed Timothy Castagne before curling the ball into the far corner. The young star was involved again as Liverpool doubled their lead, picking out Gakpo, who laid off for Salah to score. The Egyptian's goal was only his second in the Premier League since November, and his sixth of the season. Fulham had their chances, with Sasa Lukic having a goal ruled out for offside and Rodrigo Muniz failing to capitalize on a free header. However, Liverpool's defense held firm, giving Slot's side a much-needed win. Sky Sports' Jamie Redknapp praised Ngumoha's performance, saying, 'The potential was so obvious. Everybody could see it. He just had sort of a natural X-factor.' Redknapp also revealed that he had seen Ngumoha train with his son at Chelsea, and was impressed by the young player's fast feet and dedication to repetition in training. Liverpool boss Arne Slot also praised Ngumoha, saying, 'One of his strengths is dominating the one-on-one. We've seen this season that he gets more and more and more playing time. That's what he deserves because every time he plays, he does really well.' Slot also acknowledged that the win was a welcome relief, saying, 'I wouldn't say luck but at last there was justice to how the game went.'
